Maruti Suzuki Launched “KB” Series Engine Facility

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has launched a new engine facility in a Gurgaon, which will build a new “KB” series of the petrol engines. This new facility will have the capacity of 240K units when operating fully.
The company has spent a total of Rs 1200 crores in this project. The completely automated facility has 4 production lines and is able to make an engine in just 55 seconds when operating with full capacity.
The ‘KB’ series engine will finally replace the whole existing ‘J’ series of the petrol engines in company’s portfolio. New engine arrives with superior technologies making it more powerful and fuel efficient. The KB 10 engine will be the first engine to be makes at this new facility, which will soon see on ‘A-Star’ car.
We are happy to introduce a brand new family of petrol engines for our customers. The new engine series is also an important step towards attaining the target sales of a million units in the domestic market by 2010-11.

It is nice to now about Maruti expansion plans in India. The new generation engine is said to be more fuel efficient will be fitted to the global car A-Star. In span of 3-4 years other Maruti models will be enhanced with KB Series Engine.Looks like Maruti Suzuki is going to give a tough competition to other car manufacturers.
