Maruti Rules Out Price Cut
Posted on November 20th 2008Welcome back!
Maruti Suzuki India, India’s leading auto maker, will not cut prices of their products to beat a recession.
Mr. Singh (Managing Executive officer [production], Maruti Suzuki India) said that even though product costs had come down, they were still struggling with the high prices of steel and there are no plans to reduce costs at the moment.
The company recently launched the A-Star. According to Mr. Singh, 1 lakh cars would be exported to Europe, and 50K cars would be sold in a domestic market.

Hi,
If you look deeply into the matter , one will realize that Maruti-Suzuki has taken a right decision by not cutting down the price. The economic pressure has given a great pinch to car manufacturers and the the steel prices have also gone high and all these reasons hold the manufacturers from slashing the price on their models.
