Maruti, GM, Hero Honda & Bajaj Sales Fall Down, Yamaha Revs Up in December 2008

Maruti, the leading car manufacturer, recorded 10% fall (56,293 units), as compared to December 2007 (62, 515 units). However, compared to November 2008, it was 9 percent. Maruti sold 47,704 units in a domestic market in November’08.
General Motors, another leader in car manufacturing, recorded 9.5 percent rise in their sales at 65,702 units in 2008 as compared to 60,032 units in the year of 2007.
In two wheeler, Hero Honda has reported 10% fall (215,931 units in Dec 2008) in sales as compared to December 2007 (240,532 units). But, the company has reported 9 percent growth in the year 2008. They sold 36,08,220 units of two-wheelers in Ja-Dec 2008 as compared to 33,09,051 units in whole 2007.
Bajaj Automobiles has recorded 33% fall, it sold 119,215 units of two-wheelers in December’09 as compared to 177,249 units in 2007. The company has reported 37 percent fall in its bike sales at 131,681 bikes in November 2008. Its entire two-wheeler sales also observed 37 percent fall, at 132,421 units as compared to 211,600 units in 2007.
However, Yamaha has reported a three-fold jump in its domestic sales in December at 16,000 as compared to 5,524 units in the December’07. Similarly, Skoda India has reported a 28.5% growth over 2007. It sold 16,188 units in 2008.

Yeah, these 2 models that Yamaha launched really helped them increase their sales and will probably help even more this year!! They are really great bikes and should concquer a good slice of Indian market!!
