The 12 Auto Expo will take place with the leading and biggest carmaker of the country called Maruti Suzuki, which has revealed its Compact SUV XA Alpha. India is trying to become the leading automobile economy of the world, which is power-driven by both constant government support as well as middle class support.

“The choice of automobile will be dictated more and more by the way of life of customers. We will launch new products and create new categories to their choice,” Maruti Suzuki Managing Director and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi said. It has also been decided by the company to expand the range of its well-known K-series engine and carry on providing diesel vehicles apart from introducing new models. SUV XA displays the united R&D of both Maruti Suzuki India as well as Suzuki Motor Corp. In the project, for developing the new model nearly five Maruti engineers and Suzuki engineers are involved that took almost ten months.

According to Nakanishi, SUV segment accounts for nearly 14% of the complete automobile market in India and from that time, company is not able to make its presence in the segment hence, it require one for retaining its leadership position. Commenting on the Indian market, he said, “The slowdown is short-term and temporary and Maruti network and capacity are designed for long term.” He also said that the company is not making best sales growth in the remaining of ongoing fiscal.

Almost 50 worldwide brands would be displaying their products in the latest Auto Expo. Auto Expo is also going to witness the introduction of 24 cars by different domestic companies, 8 two-wheelers by homegrown firms and 8 by worldwide players. The event will start from January 7 to January 11 for the public. It has been decided by the organizers to limit the number of people to just 1 lakh everyday that include 30,000 people from the exhibitors’ side. This event is going to be the second-biggest auto show of the world in terms of footfalls.
