Maruti Alto : Highest-Selling Model - Crosses 23K Mark

India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has states that it’s most popular model Alto has recorded maximum ever sales at 23,569 units in March’09 as compared to a 20,000 units mark in a month for an eleventh time.
Company officials said that the Alto observed growth of 20.98% compared to the same month of 2008. The company has sold total 19,482 cars of Alto in a March’09.Up to now only 2-cars in the history of Indian Auto Industry have crossed a 20K unts mark in a single month : once by Maruti 800 and eleven times by Alto.
Alto was the 1st car brand to cross more than 2 lakh cars’ sale in a domestic market in a fiscal 2006-2007.
In 2008, the 800cc model crossed ten lakh mark as its unveil in Sept. 2000. In this, 1.87 lakh cars have been sold in the abroad markets.
