Malaysia, Taiwan Entice Tata For Nano

Tata Nano has indeed been a revolutionary invention from the house of Tata Motors. The dream of gifting common people a car worth Rs 1 lakh was seen by Mr. Ratan Tata and his commitment made it possible to actually realize it.
So much has been the impact of the car that now it seems that it’s being lured by countries like Malaysia and Taiwan to bring a Nano there.
Yes, if sources are to be believed, nearly two years after Tata Nano was launched in India, representatives of countries from Asia, South America and Europe have expressed interest in launching the ‘world’s cheapest car’ in their respective counties.
Since Tata Nano has relevant potential to generate employment, Malaysia, Taiwan, Turkey, Brazil and Romania are very keen on seeing a Nano run on their roads.
Mr. (Ratan) Tata is keen to work with Proton again. About seven-eight years ago, there were some joint discussions to manufacture cars, but nothing came out of it. Now, our new automotive policy is more liberal and there are new opportunities. So, we need to study if we can bring in this type of a car (Nano) into Malaysia or work with Proton to produce the people’s car
The Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Muhyddin Yassin was recently stated as saying.
Tata Motors is developing new and advanced version of Nano for US and European car markets. These high-end models, built exclusively for these countries and set to be launched next year would be costlier than the one currently being sold in India. Tata Motors has started even Nano clinics too in these counties. An inside report also suggests that the auto major was keen to bring Nano to Thailand and Taiwan before venturing out to unveil it in other counties.
The main motto behind every country head asking for setting up manufacturing bases in their countries is that they want to generate employment.
Well, it’s good news to hear that an Indian company is spreading its wings across the globe. Go Tata Go!
