M800 be Unsuccessful to Get Through Euro-IV Norms

Posted on November 4th 2008

Welcome back!

Maruti Suzuki’s Maruti 800 may soon become the thing of past. M800 car is existing in India since 1984. This is because its incapability to meet the strict Euro-IV emission norms that all car manufacturers require to follow from the 2010 onwards.

Besides, the experts think that the company may not be able to bring a Euro IV compliant edition of the Maruti 800. And because of this, the India’s one of the most popular and successful models from the Maruti & Suzuki may be vanished. Its sales have dropped for the previous 5 years as buyers are interested in Maruti Suzuki Alto and other popular car models. However, the industry is still making 70K units yearly of a abovementioned model and expecting best in future.

Maruti 800 is one of the first best family car.It ruled the Indian for several years. It is sad to know that Maruti 800 may fade away from the indian roads.Hope the company will do some thing about following the Euro-IV emission norms.

Can any one please inform if the company has come out with offers for upgrading m800 and if so at what cost ? I will never sell my favourite m800 and will use it for atleast another 5 years or longer. ( It is already 11 years old). It has been very faithfull and is part of the family.
