Kia Motors Won’t Operate From India

At a time when automobile companies all over the world are vying to operate in the enticing Indian operating market owing to exponential growth factor; here is a shocker. Kia Motors, Korea’s second largest automobile company has gone ahead and decided not to operate in India.

Yes; that’s true! Kia Motors which is Korea’s second largest car maker has decided not to start their operation in India.

Kia Motors is also a subsidiary company of Hyundai and taking a step against the odds, was not impressed by the growth factor in the Indian automobile market and declined to start an India operation.

According to the first reports reaching here, Kia Motors is very much impressed with the way Indian auto market has evolved over the years but still could not find it progressive enough to start a business here. Kia Motors is basically inclined towards already developed auto markets like China, Europe and US.

At present company is full in its operations and is not looking for Indian auto market for its global expansions. We will keep our eye only on the developed market and the target is to reach 1 million car sales in 2011.The plans for operations in India are ruled out for now but the plans may be taken up in future depending on the potential of market and company both.

Michael J. Choo, Spokesperson for Kia Motors was quoted as saying.

Kia Motors is a company known for manufacturing world class sporty look cars and is growing at an exponential rate. Since past one year, the Korean company has been analyzing Indian automobile market to start a business here, but finally officials have announced the company’s disinterestedness in Indian market.

Kia Motors was impressed by Hyundai’s good growth in India but could not see itself fitting in here.

When many auto makers are struggling to get a huge pie from Indian auto market, the decision taken by Kia Motors to stay away from it is still a shocker.
