Welcome back!

Now that the Indian market, with its sports bike segment, is all heated up with the launch of Honda CBR 250 R, other bike companies are trying to make their contribution to this segment. Due to this, Kawasaki had set up the entire scene for performance biking in India, when it launched its 250 cc Kawasaki Ninja back in 2009. Among the few premium sport bike manufacturers to bring in some heat into the Indian two-wheeler segment, this was a very welcome move from the company.

News is that the bike manufacturer has now moved up a notch higher, and finally brought the Ninja in a higher capacity, which is a 650cc version. This phenomenal bike is known to the biking world as the Kawasaki Ninja 650R. With a competitive pricing of Rs 4.57 lakh (INR)(ex-showroom Delhi and Pune), the Kawasaki Ninja is definitely going to give its immediate and only competitor in India, the Hyosung GT650R, also priced at Rs. 4.75 lakh, a run for its money.

This bike is regarded as an all round 600cc sports motorcycle, which has all the style and performance that is well suited for both city riding and long commutes. The Ninja 650 R is powered with a 4 stroke, DOHC 8 valve, Parallel Twin engine, that powers out around 72 bhp gaining around 8500 rpm and a maximum of  66 Nm of Torque at 7000 rpm.

Commenting on this launch, Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto, told the press “We conceived Bajaj Probiking 6 years ago with the objective of making it the default destination for motorbike enthusiasts looking for premium and performance bikes. The Ninja 650R is the next step in realizing that objective.” He added, “The Kawasaki Ninja 250R has been a success with 1500 of these speed machines sold to date. It is now joined by its larger sibling to rule the roads.”

A diamond high tensile steel frame with a liquid cooled engine, equipped with triple petal disc brakes, ergonomically raised handlebars for un-exhaustive riding; all this and much more is at display with the powerful and exciting new Ninja 650R. The suspension system too has been given some additional attention, as the drive even on bad road conditions will give you all the comfort.

This bike will be available exclusively at all the Bajaj Probiking showrooms across 30 cities. The Kawasaki Ninja 650R will be backed with pro biking after sales service and spare parts availability.
