What started with the announcement and launch of Tata Nano has by now became a rage and auto majors are working in tandem since then to tap the compelling low cost Indian car market and unearth the colossal prospects locked in the same.

We are talking about various companies’ decision to unveil low cost cars in the Rs 2 lakhs segment, which has currently Tata Nano in the league.

The low cost small car Indian market is set to see some phenomenal changes as automobile companies from all around are ready to launch their offering and win a significant share of this huge pie.

The cars which are being speculated to be launched in the same foray include Hyundai’s 800 CC cars, and a low cost vehicle from Nissan-Renault-Bajaj trio. Auto biggies like General Motors, (GM), from the US & Italy based Fiat are also zeroing on the option of introducing their offering in the same line of businesses.

With Hyundai’s car at 1.6 lakhs and Nissan-Renault-Bajaj small car at 1.10 lakhs to be out shortly, is slowly but surely spicing up the heat as a new set of war is expected in this league too.

Is it just seeing the condition as a mute spectator or some thing big is up their plans to be churned out.

Yes, Tata is busy developing Tata Dolphin, which is set to be shelved between Nano and Indica.

Not very behind is Maruti Suzuki, which is also gearing up to release its small car named Maruti Carvo in India by the year end and set to price the same between 1.5-2 lakhs.

Rest assured, Indian small car market is set to see one of the price wars that’s set to benefit the end user considerably.
