Hyundai is the largest exporter of the cars from India. They will launch minimum 3 – new cars under theirs i-series for a domestic as well as the overseas market.

The next one in line is i20, which will unveil during a festive season in October while the next 2 variants – i30 & i40 will arrive in Indian market in after few years.

We plan to bring the entire portfolio of our new i-series cars to India. As a full range car company, the premium i30 and i40 cars have a significant potential in India. These new generation cars are ideal for the fast growing Indian market. Besides, we will also strengthen the i10 portfolio with a new engine and an automatic transmission in the next few months.

- Mr. HS Lheem (HMI managing director and CEO) said.

The i10 will offer with a new generation 1.2L Kappa series engine which delivers 13 hp (more than the current 1.1L 67 hp).

Hyundai Motors is also finalizing their entry into the D-segment with its Avante sedan.

We have renewed our emphasis on premium cars after maintaining a stronghold in the compact car segment. We are studying the market potential and analysing the new launches of the competitors in the C and D segment this year. The demand for premium cars is increasing in small cities and towns, and we are planning to focus our new products in such markets.

- Mr. Lheem said.

With the increase in gasoline costs, the industry is concentrating on substitute fuel powertrains, and after launching the CNG variants they will introduce the Santro hatchback and the Accent sedan on the LPG fuel.

Hyundai Motors India has involved the ACMA (Auto Component Manufacturer’ Asso. Of India) demanding the Gov. of India to pursue the free-trade agreement (FTA) with the South Korea on lines of Thailand FTA for the low tax on auto components.

Hyundai is planning to export engines and critical parts from Indian market to their global subsidiaries. They have set the target to export 20,000 engines to Kia Motors in SK this year.
