Indian automobile industry has become a hunting ground for many domestic and international players who are having a war to have a significant pie from this gigantic market.
Having realized the viability of the Indian automobile market and after doing its own homework, one of the auto majors of the recent time, Hyundai Motors has decided to pump in Rs 1500 Crores alone in Tamilnadu.
The South Korean auto biggie is reportedly to have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the officials of state government to roll out its third straight investment in the southern state. The deal is apparently being done to set up a production unit and a diesel mill, too.
Hyundai India has put across a proposal for investing Rs 1,500 crores for establishing a manufacturing unit for producing automotive parts and diesel mill. Government is considering the proposal and in sometime the state government will stamp on the MoU with the immediate effect with Hyundai
Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, the principal secretary of industries department, in conversation with the media was quipped as saying.
Providing you a peep, Hyundai Motors India has got two manufacturing facilities Irrungettukottai near Chennai.
Apart from this deal, Hyundai Motors also has its plans to roll out a diesel mill production facility for a whopping amount of 500 crores. Hyundai is looking up to this diesel production unit to hush up the manufacturing of its diesel run models. The models that would be the beneficiary of this mill include Hyundai i20 and the sedan Hyundai Verna Transform. Till now, the auto major used to manufacture and ship its diesel-run models directly from a plant based in South Korea.
Hyundai looks happy with their move and hope to make the maximum from these two soon-to-be- launched production facilities.
