Santro is one such excellent small segment launched by Hyundai, few years back. The Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan being the brand ambassador, the car grabbed substantial popularity and market sale.
Now Hyundai has recently launched modified version of this past performer. This new version is called, Hyundai Santro Xing. With added comfort features and variants capable of running the vehicle on LPG fuel, this version-next hatchback is expected to enhance the overall sale for Santro.

Being the gene-next Santro we can surely expect some innovative modifications in this newly launched. Santro Xing, too, does not disappoint the viewers. The previous design is greatly modified to give the hatchback a sportier, appealing look. The radiator grille and the rear spoiler stand out boldly in the new Santro Xing’s exterior, whereas the interior looks nice with the two tone beige and brown color scheme. The new Hyundai Santro Xing GLS is powered by a 1086 CC, LPG engine. The engine delivers a max power of 63 Bhp @ 5500 rpm, which is quite good and capable of attaining a max speed of 141 km/h. However the max torque is 9.8 kg-m @ 3000 rpm which comparatively seems less.
Apart from the engine performance, the hatchback attracts you through its new stylish look offered by the special body-colored molding attached at its waistline. The front end is decorated with The ‘H’ logo fitted on the radiator grille and the detachable bumpers. The car has got alloy wheels. The peculiarity in GLS variant is that the wheels are covered completely. This full wheel cover gives the car a more compact and trendy appearance.
The suspension systems are standard. The front suspension is a Mc Pherson strut with coil spring and the rear suspension is a torsion beam axle with coil spring. The suspension along with the new aero dynamical design offers greater stability to the car. Another feature that supports aerodynamic stability of the car is a trend setter, known as rear spoiler. It functions to trace the body counters at high speed and windy conditions.
As mentioned earlier, this new version of Santro is emphasized on adding more and more comfort and lavishness in it. Hence, Santro Xing is made available in a varied range of colors with newer addition such as sparkle blue. The additional lavishness is offered through the rear combination lamps, which looks amazing during night time.
The safety of the car is taken care equally just as is its comfort richness. The major of all is the impact safety. A pair of high torsion impact bars provides high degree of protection against side impacts. Also the crumple zones are further reinforced to confirm the highest global norms and are tested against quite tough conditions.
The interior is pleasant with 2-tone beige and brown colors. The front seats are given sportier look while the rear seats are double folding. Other comforts for the driver are the power assisted front windows and the power steering. The power steering is engineered superbly in new Santro Xing and gives complete joy of riding through its great flexibility.

The new avatar of Hyundai Santro, powered by a LPG eRLX engine is surely nice performance advancement, in the base model Santro. The new stunning sporty look, comfort enhanced interior and security systems are the supporting reasons to go for the new Santro Xing. This version too, starts with the most economical non AC model. The GLX LPG variant, which we are talking about, costs near to 4 lakh and is perfectly worth paying the price. Briefly, it is a nice, performance proven hatchback, with added luxury features and would not disappoint the new buyers, for sure!
