Hyundai Motors to Speed Up WorkHyundai Motors India is planning to increase its production capacity by 20% and plans to hire 1000 more employees this month at its Chennai plant.

The recruitment will bring the company’s total personnel up to over 12K. Last month, the company increased their 25% productivity and 1000 personnel at the facility.

We have started the third shift from July 10 at Fatory-I, for which we hired over 1,000 people. We will start the third shift at Plant-II from September 14 and induct another 1,000 people this month.

- Mr. H.S. Lheem (MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India) said.

Currently the company is manufacturing about 2000 units/day. This will be increased by 400 units when the 3rd shift will start.

Hyundai Motors has sold total 45,543 cars in the month of July 09, of which the 22,350 units were exported. The company is also planning to increase headcount to around 800 from 210.

    Hyundai is really making money in India and as most of the Hyundai models are hit it is a wise decision to increase its production in India. Is the company planning to bring out any new models?

    @ Rahul - Yes definitely Hyundai has lot of plans for India, It is also getting into alternate fuel on its existing cars and might be a small car would follow to compete Maruti and Tata Nano lol!.
