Posted on July 2nd 2009Welcome back!
India’s second largest car maker & the one of largest passenger vehicle exporters – Hyundai Motors reported 5.2% increase in its domestic sales at 23,016 units in June 2009 as compared to 21,881 units during the June last year. Thus the company has announced a net increase of 17.63% in sales in June’09.
The company has reported total sales for a June’09 at 47,267 units as compared to 40,182 units in a same period last year.
The first half of 2009 sales saw us maintain a strong position in the overseas market which of course saw resurgence due to the incentives in many European countries. In the domestic market too we maintained our leadership position although the growth curve remained flat. We hope that in the coming budget too the Government will continue its initiatives which it had taken to support the domestic market and would also take some positive steps to support exports which has huge potential to increase the sales of Indian manufactured cars in the overseas markets.

- A2 Segment : Getz, Santro, i10 & i20 = 42,524 cars;
- A3 Segment :Verna & Accent = 4706 cars;
- A5 Segment: Sonata Transform = 34 cars;
- SUV Seg:Tucson = 3.

The discounted price and launch of new models have added to the increase of sales. It is not just Hyundai but Maruti Suzuki and Tata too experienced a good growth.
