Hyundai Domestic Sales Drop 4 Percent in May

India’s 2nd largest car maker, Hyundai Motor India, on Monday posted a 4.11% drop in its domestic sales during May at 23,503 units, from the 24,510 units in the corresponding period last year.
Hyundai exported 20,125 units in May 2009 as compared with 15,751 units in the corresponding period last year, the growth of 27.77%.
The company sold the 39,864 units of Santro, i10 and Getz, 3735 units of Verna and Accent, 27 units of the Sonata Transform and 2 units of Tuscon in May 2009.

Hyundai Motors is the second largest car manufacturer in India. Does the fall in sales indicate that it is loosing its market share to Maruti Suzuki that is introducing new vehicles every now and then?
