Honda Siel Motors India has hiked the prices of all its car models, City, Civic, CR-V and Accord.
The prices for largest selling car City have increased by Rs 30000 - Rs 35000 while prices of the Civic is increased by Rs 50100 - Rs 63000. The prices for luxury sedan Accord have gone up by 1 lakh while for CR-V, it is Rs 3.54 Lakh hike !
The rupee has depreciated by over 16% vs USD in the past 8 months. On the other hand, the Japanese Yen has strengthened by 10.5% during this period. These currency fluctuations have resulted in tremendous increase in cost of imports impacting the bottom lines, but so far, we have refrained from passing them on to the customer. But it is not possible to absorb the impact any more.
- Mr. Jnaneswar Sen (VP, Marketing) said
The modified prices for CR-V, City and Civic will be in force from 1st April’09, and for Accord from 16th March’09.
