Honda Siel Cars brings its new Accord V6 in the next week

In the next week, Honda Siel, Japanese car maker will bring its top class ‘Accord V6’ in the Indian market. Its cost will be around Rs 25 lakh.

Masahiro Takedahawa, Honda Siel Cars India President and CEO said PTI “ Our new Accord V6 is ready. It will be brought into market in the next week. Its engine capacity is 3.5 litres generating 280 horsepower (hp).”
When asked about the pricing strategy of the car in the Indian market, Takedahawa said “ We have priced the car around Rs.25 lakh by looking at the car specifications.”
Accord, that is presently available in the market, has engine capacity of 2.4 litres generating 180 hp. The cost of the car starts from Rs. 16.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The company has made the announcement that they are planning to launch its premium hatchback ‘ Jazz’ in India around mid-2009. This car would have engine capacity of 1.2 litres , suiting the Indian Regulations to obtain the tax rebate of 12.5%.
The company in India, having a joint project with the Siel Group, has postponed the opening of second manufacturing facility in Rajasthan because of the recession in the market and reduced production of around 45% from the starting of this year.

It was very recently Honda rolled out the all new Accord and now this new V6 will carry a heavy price tag of Rs 25 lakh. A new model at the time of recession is some thing a bold step.
