At the time when many auto manufacturers in India are hiking costs, HSCI (Honda Siel Cars India) declared that they are cutting rates of sedans by up to Rs 5000 with the effect from Sunday on account of the decrease in central sales taxes.
We have received notification from the government on the central sales tax cut from 3% to 2% announced in the Budget. Hence we are reducing the prices of our models City and Civic to pass the benefit to consumers.
- HSCI official said.
Mid-sized Honda City will be low-priced by Rs 3000, while Honda Civil will be low-priced by Rs 5000. Prior the reduction, City was costs between Rs 6.8 lakh and Rs 8.65 lakh, while Civil priced between Rs 10.91 lakh and Rs 12.41 lakh.

Honda has also reduced price for its sedan Honda City and Civic and the reason for the price cut is reduction in central sales tax from 1% from the existing 3%. Honda will be launching its MUV in India but the official date is not yet fixed.
