A small car made under Honda badge named as the Honda Brio is expected to be launched, somewhere down the line in October 2011. Now this news is just buzzing around town and has made the Indian Auto Market heat up already. It has been long since the Japanese car maker has been under the scanner for not having a diesel engine running on the Indian roads. And due to this void created in Honda India fleet of cars the diesel car segment has literally affected the overall sales of all Honda cars as compared to its competitors which have been offering diesel variants like Maruti Suzuki SX4 and Volkswagen Vento. But, with changing times Honda too is all set to have a go at selling its diesel versions in the Indian car market. This in effect has made Honda to think of offering a diesel engine to its Honda Brio in future also.

These days as petrol prices are soaring high, diesel cars in India are getting the popular vote of all the buyers. And Honda is seen finally warming up for the strategy of providing Honda Brio in a diesel version soon. Experts believe that it could really act as a strong comeback of Honda into the Indian Auto market all over again. According to the present scenario, diesel and hatchback cars are really ruling the roost as far as Indian car sector is concerned and this situation will in effect be beneficial for Honda Brio’s diesel variant and the company as a whole. Honda is going to launch diesel variants of its other models too. It is said that this development will hopefully occur in the financial year of 2013 -2014.

From all this it can be concluded that Honda, India mainly wants to promote its Honda Brio which will be available with a 1.5 L of diesel engine in future because in doing so, it will not only make its buyers happy, but also help the car company to lessen the overall excise duty that is levied. Honda Brio launch date has been slated for the festive season of Diwali and all the Honda fans are eagerly waiting to get a test ride of the future hatch.
