HM-Mitsubishi Motors Unveil Lancer Evolution X in India

Posted on November 20th 2010

Welcome back!

HM-Mitsubishi Motors have brought the Lancer Evolution X to the Indian market in style. The car was launched at the Autocar Performance show on Thursday.

Mr Manoj Jha, Managing Director Hindustan Motors while talking to the reporters on this occasion said,

“Our company focus is to enhance the product portfolio, with additional new variants coming up within next 16-18 months.”

Evo X shows impressive configuration. It is powered with a new 4B11 MIVEC Twin Scroll Turbo, all aluminum light weight engine with low gravity. The EVO X gets the power of 216 KW (294 Ps). The system is mated with the sporty response of manual gearbox. Convenience and effort saving qualities of the automatic transmission make the model all the more special. It has been made capable of lightning-quick up shifts with no drop-off in power.

It comes up with a cleverly designed new vehicle motion integrated control system which is based on 4-wheel drive force. This makes the vehicle respond to the driver’s intent through and through.

Among the major attribute of the Evo X model are• Active Yaw Control (AYC) which features the yaw rate control, using a yaw rate sensor for determining accurately cornering dynamics on a real time basis,• Active Stability Control (ASC),that enables the engine power and braking force at each wheel and stabilizes the vehicle while maintaining the optimum traction.• Sports Anti Lock Brake System (ABS) which prevents the vehicle from locking under sudden braking on slippery surfaces•

Active Central Differential (ACD), an electronically controlled hydraulic multi plate clutch, the ACD evenly distributes basic drive force and optimizes front/rear wheel torque split. At present Mitsubishi Motors has 50 customer touch points in India in the metropolises like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata, stepped into the Indian Market through its collaboration with Hindustan Motors Limited. Mitsubishi has also launched other models in the Indian Market, like the Pajero, the Montero, the Cedia and Outlander.

Mitsubishi is an excellent car brand but HM its maker in India is not. HM made the Amby for 50 years and dubbed as the car that made noises from everywhere except the horn was badly built with cheap inferior components in a monopoly market The only buyers were the Calcutta taxiwallas. Monster sized diesel engine produced 37 HP and 1800 CC petrol engine 75 HP. No wonder the sale of Ambys is banned in metros from Aprl 2010.
