India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero Honda has become the monarch of two-wheeler industry with crossing a mark of 4 lakhs for first time in history. It has reported 36% growth in its sales at 4,15,137 bikes in a month of August.

Hero Honda has constantly bank ed on its Splendor and Passion brands as its key growth drivers and the fact that customers still swear by them is a tribute to their durability despite competition.

This is an all time record and for the first time in our history we have crossed the figure of four lakh units in monthly sale. This is mainly driven by our overall marketing strategy and customer specific products.

According to source, the company has plans to introduce a few new models this year and it could be editions of its most booming brands.

HMSI, subsidiary of Honda in India, has sold 96,149 bikes in August’09 compared to 84,476 in a same period of 2008. The market believed the company to achieve superior than this particularly when HMSI had reported more than 1 lakh units in months of June & July, but due to production limitations at its Manesar plant, the company couldn’t achieved the goal.

In gearless segment, HMSI is a topper company, sold more than 59K units in August. Honda Activa is at peak point as its waiting list has grown longer for the new variant that reportedly delivers 55 kmpl mileage.
