GM to Recall 1.3MN Cars in the United States
Posted on March 2nd 2010Welcome back!

After Toyota now its GM turns to recall 1.3 Million cars. Not only in the United States but also in its neighboring countries the effect has spread. In Canada and in the Mexico the problem of GM cars is to be found. The problem is in the steering motor of the vehicle. GM engineers confirmed that a failure might occur which can result in non working of the Steering motor.
At high speeds it can trigger accidents or change in course. The design of the compact cars is done according to new specifications. The reason being for the failure of steering motors is not known yet.
Cars affected in the steering failure are the Chevrolet Cobalt, Pontiacs G5, Pontiac Pursuits and the Pontiacs G4 which is sold in Mexico. All these models which are in sale from 2005 to 2010 are being recalled. One of the striking news is the year and the make. GM has taken the decision to call back those cars too which was manufactured in the year 2005. It is strange and a very bad situation for the American manufacturer to call back those cars which are on road from a long time.
GM also stated that these cars are safe to drive at high speed but they might pose problems if the speed is less than 15mph. For those who use these cars for daily work they might be in trouble as the speedways are jammed most of the time. If a steering problem is being found full replacement will be given and all the showrooms have been alerted for quick repair.
