GM Ties Up with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC)
General Motors are in a partnership with SIAC of 50:50. Commercial vehicles will be launched in the Indian market. A need is present for top valued commercial vehicles. SIAC is famous for its elongated vehicles which are famous worldwide. With the help of GM it will get a tremendous boost technology wise.

The partnership is profitable for both the firms and it will deliver one of the précised commercial vehicles in the Indian market. Mr. Joseph YH Liu conducted a market research for the need of commercial vehicles in India. The reports generated by the search decided the partnership should take place. GM India will soon be rolling out LCV which will help in utilizing others business in smooth manner.

SIAC will be launching LCV in the Indian market by 2012. One tone capacity is targeted for making the first hit. Passenger cars might be the next step. Issue of passenger cars is still on papers. If the LCV sector increases and generates income the Passenger car will be in production. Halol plant will be in use for manufacturing of SIAC LCV vehicles.
