GM Forms New Company for Sales, Marketing

Referred to planning and supply management, well-timed delivery and price synergies, GM India, the totally-owned subsidiary of world’s largest auto maker industry, United States based General Motors Co., has developed the new sales & distribution entity called GM (India) Marketing Pvt Ltd.
As the part of this reformation, General Motors India is moving its sales, marketing and distribution actions to new company, while all making activities will stay with GM (India) Pvt Ltd.
Since GM India’s operations have become much bigger now, it is important to have a robust distribution network in place.
- Mr. P. Balendran (VP, GM India) said.
According to him, this change in industry’s corporate formation will improve planning and effect in better transport and inventory managing apart from an enabling price synergies.
Concerning a structure of new company, which will be ready in some time, Mr. Balendran said that Mr. Ankush Arora, presently the VP marketing for GM (India), will carry on to head the marketing business of company.
GM India is as well increasing its sales points to a 145 and service channels to a 160 by 2008 end. Currently, it has the network of a 122 sales points and a 129 service channels across India.

General Motors is doing wonders in India. Now it is planning to Form new company for sales and marketing. This is one of the best ways to increase its presence in the country.
