Increasing inflation and slowing demands have imposed car manufacturers to modify their strategies.
The 1st to fall in line is GMI (General Motors India), which has declared the special offer cost of Rs 2.66 lakh at ex-showroom, Delhi for their small car model Chevrolet Spark.
The base variant of Spark without power steering and AC will offer at all India cost of Rs 2.66 lakh.
The special price comes on the back of improved localisation of Spark and operational efficiencies due to increase in production volume. We are operating at maximum capacity for Spark at the Halol plant in Gujarat, which has allowed us to offer a lower price to customers.
- Mr. Ankush Arora (VP of GMI (marketing)) said.
The Spark now offered almost Rs 55K cheaper than its last year’s launch cost of Rs 3.09 lakh at ex-showroom, Delhi. This is the 2nd time the cost of the Spark has been decreased.
Other makers are not far in attracting customers. Maruti’s Zen Estilo and Alto small cars currently available with a cost waver of up to Rs 52K while Mahindra Renault Logan concession goes up to Rs 55K.

Chevrolet Spark is a great car and this limited offer is going to boost up their sales. This attractive price will definitely give other cars from the small segment a tough time. May be other car manufacturers may come up with some other attractive offer.
