Posted on February 10th 2011

Welcome back!

Camero
Indian automobile market is one big opportunity for all auto players to operate and enjoy a significant run. The potential has lured many a players to launch their cars here and also bring models those were not intended to be brought here.

Realizing the potential of this huge market, General Motors (GM) has decided to bring on Camero, a full-fledged muscle car that has the punch to appeal guys and girls alike.

Better known for its stint in Hollywood fanfare Transformers, the Chevrolet Camero oozes confidence, style and a pertinent amount of sophistication. This budget car was firstly showcased in the auto expo, Delhi in 2010 but till then, the company had no plans to bring on the model to India.

But, having said that, once the model generated tremendous buzz in the auto expo as the days passed, the company was forced to re-think and make strategies for an India launch. The auto major has reworked its plans and decks are almost clear for the car to be unveiled in the enticing Indian automobile market soon.

Since the Camero is a CBU, it will come for a price and a speculation is being made for it to be priced around 18 lakhs but many a factors like the import, excise and other duties shall make it a car worth 30 lakhs.

It being touted as the priciest GM car India has ever seen, given the fact that it’s a muscle car, can you auto buffs resist it from coming to India? Of course, you can’t wait for it to be unleashed by GM.

Is it the start of another segment in the Indian auto market as it’s most probably the first muscle car to be introduced by any company? It would be interesting to see if any more auto biggies are going to launch their muscle cars in India and give Camero a run for its money.
