Audi back with Audi A7 ‘Sportback’

The German car manufacturer Audi has launched its latest luxury sedanA7 Sportback in India. This Sportback is more of a style statement from Audi as it will certainly lift up its image in the automobile world, more than a practical option as a luxury sedan segment. The Audi A7 has these, coupe like lines and this car with all its magnificent design is seen as a competitor for the likes of Aston Martin Rapide, Mercedes CLS and Porsche Panamera.

The Audi A7 is going to be available in the Indian market with two engine options. One would be a 3.0-litre TDi with V6 cylinder diesel engine, churning out around 245bhp and providing maximum 50.98kgm of torque at a good speed of 1400rpm; and secondly a 3.0-litre TFSi petrol engine having V6 too.

Talking about the Audi A7’s exteriors, the front end of this car has been given an aggressive stance with a single frame. With this, the Audi has given it the clichéd grill styling which also incorporates with the all new striking LED Headlamps. The design overall resembles the legendary Audi A8 sedan, but has a very unique and distinctive design like a two door coupe styling. The interior is uploaded with a beautiful quality of leather, wood and also is furnished with brushed aluminum combination, including a high tech pop-up navigation system screen.

Both, the engine options, a 3.0-litre diesel and 3.0-litre petrol variants are available for Rs 64lakh (INR), which are ex-showroom Delhi priced. The fully loaded Audi A7 will cost around you Rs 85lakh (INR) (ex-showroom Delhi). Deliveries of the all new Sport back will begin from May 15th 2011.

In order to boost its premium high-performance image, the German car maker has also made a new launch, that of the new RS5 Coupe in India. The Audi RS5 Coupe gets a reworked version of the 4.2-litre V8 cylinder engine from the R8, with an increase in power output, which is now around 444bhp at 8250rpm, while getting a maximum torque of 43.96kgm at stunning 4000rpm.

This will give the Coupe from Audi acceleration, which is a 0-100kph in 4.6sec, unlike any other car; and with it the Coupe will provide a limited top speed of 250kph. The power is provided to all four wheels via a 7 speed DSG unit both manual and automatic. The Audi Coupe RS5 is going to be priced at Rs 76lakh (INR), ex-showroom Delhi. And news is that only 20-30 RS5 Coupes will make it to the roads in India.
