General Motors Devices to Go Green with CNG Models
Posted on August 10th 2010Welcome back!
Let’s start this news with some Gyaan.
Companies of diverse natures have not only got the virtues to earn money, but also they have a say towards their vicinity they operate in.
Following their same say towards the environment, General Motors have initiated a step to keep the environment healthy.
Yes, that’s right! General Motors have decided to roll out CNG variants as well in addition to its LPG run models.
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) powered versions of the Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full-size vans will be offered to fleet and commercial customers beginning later this year
General Motors (GM) announced confirming the very news.
We’re listening to our fleet customers and dealers about offering options that help them achieve their business objectives,” said Brian Small, general manager of GM’s fleet and commercial operations
The industry commitment to expand the CNG and LPG infrastructure in key fleet markets was an enabler to allowing us to introduce these options now.
Another executive was quoted as saying.
The initial offering of products will be made not before 2011 on the model Cargo vans, being built at Wentzville assembly plant with the dedicated Vortec engine installed.
Both CNG & LPG vans will carry General Motors’ limited new warranty, the 5 year/100,000 mile transferable power train limited warranty, notwithstanding.
Other news doing the round across auto breaches is that GM is also planning to do away with its electric version.
A confirmation from the company is sought in this respect.
Hats off to GM for adhering to such an environmental-cum-business move!
