French car maker Renault launches new car in the hatchback segment

Owning a car is more than just a luxury today. The number of people who want to upgrade from a two wheeler to owning a car is ever increasing.

Leading car manufacturer Renault launched its latest model Pulse in the hatchback segment aimed at Indian market. This is currently available in two diesel variants, theRxL and RxZ. It is positioned in the hatchback segment and is priced at Rs.5.77 lakhs. Renault Pulse comes with a maximum power of 64PS@4000rpm, Renault K9K diesel 1.5 dCi engine, peak torque of 160Nm@2000rpm and a mileage of 23.08 kms/litre. With this latest offering Renault has further intensified the already competitive hatchback segment and is ready to take on Hyundai, Maruti and Tata’s small cars.

Renault Pulse comes with an array of features like, Power and tilt adjustable steering, automatic climate control, Power windows, the HVAC (Heater, Ventilation and Air Conditioner) controls on the dashboard, rear washer/wiper, rear defogger with timer, illuminated engine on/off buttons, roof spoiler, dash integrated music system, rear parcel tray and the smart lock and unlock sensing ORVMs that has proximity sensors which relieves the driver of the need to take out or finding the keys to lock or unlock the car doors as the smart access key automatically does the duty. Besides, it’s packed with safety features such as, 2 air bags, rear seat belts, fog lamps, front and rear adjustable headrests and ISOFIX child seat fixing points.

The French Car Major wants to expand its market in India and has aggressive plans chalked out. It has already started with the localization of its K9K engine in India and production has begun at the Renault-Nissan factory in Oragadam on the outskirts of Chennai.

Renault Pulse is the outcome of a project that started in 2009 with an 11 member design team. Extensive research has gone into finding out the expectations, taste and need of the Indian customers. Renault Pulse is aimed at the youth with its sleek design, features, fuel efficiency and the fun to zip around the city or hitting the highway. Renault also comes with unique 2+2 years or 80,000 kms warranty, besides 24*7 roadside assistance and navigation assistance under complete car care package.

Renault expects that their latest launch will be able to expand their market share in Indian automobile sector as it is mainly aimed at the youth and the buyers looking for an efficient car that also fits their bill.
