India has become a hub for manufacturers of different auto players to have a significant pie from it too. Many auto majors are not only shifting their bases right here but also planning to make their presence felt all over India.

Opening of new plants, car launches and refreshed model launches had been an activity for a fortnight and adding much to the pleasure for Ford, it has recently rolled out its 100000th engine in India.

Ford India’s Maraimalainagar’s became operational only 14 months ago and it has recently achieved the feat of rolling out 100000th engine. The plant has the capacity to produce 250,000 engines in a year.

We are thrilled and proud to celebrate the 100,000 production milestone in such a short space of time - my congratulations to all plant employees for a job well done! This world-class manufacturing facility reinforces our intent and commitment to compete with great products and powertrain in all segments.

Commenting on the joyous occasion, Mr. Michael Boneham, President and Managing Director of Ford India was quipped as saying.

The plant was set up by the auto major 14 months back to meet the surging demand for cars and related accessories like engines and it has rightly rose to the need and delivered on time.

The company is also looking to open a plant soon in India to push up the production of the cars.

It is a good move from the auto major and they are in the right position to cast a spell on the lucrative Indian automobile market.
