We are considering petrol and diesel variants of the proposed new small car which is being designed keeping in mind the Indian conditions. It will mark our entry into a completely new segment.

- Mr. Michael Boneham (Ford India President).

They already have declared an investment of USD 500 million for setting up new facility for producing small cars and engines.

The company launched 2-latest variants of their sedan Fiesta with 1.4 turbodiesel and 1.6 petrol engines, costs between Rs 6.20 lac and Rs 7.15 lac at ex-showroom, Delhi.

Now the new Ford Fiesta model range includes three petrol variants — 1.6 EXI, 1.6 ZXI and 1.6 SXI — and three turbodiesel variants — 1.4 EXI, 1.4 ZXI and 1.4 SXI. In addition, the Fiesta 1.6 S, a sport variant, has been uniquely developed for a demanding segment of Indian consumers.

- Mr. Boneham said.

The improvements to the Fiesta range reach far deeper than its bold, expressive headlamps and more comfortable interior. Our engineering teams have improved Fiesta’s occupant safety, refined its already impressive driving dynamics and developed the sporty 1.6 S variant. The improvements that enhance the new Ford Fiesta are based on direct customer feedback and preferences.

- He said.

The bold styling of new Fiesta indicates a clear move toward European design cues and is a true reflection of the Ford Fiesta’s exciting on-road character. We see a growing niche in the Indian market – a discerning set of customers who enjoy driving and want a car to reflect their individual personality and style.

- Mr. Boneham added.
