Ford India to Use EcoBoost Engine Technology in Cars !

Ford India is planning to launch its EcoBoost engine technology by using it in its upcoming cars. According to company, with the use of EcoBoost technology, the fuel mileage will be raised by 20 percent.

EcoBoost Technology makes use of Gasoline Turbo-charged DI Technology and previously it has been introduced by the US-based company, in their small cars and large trucks.

Ford India also claims that the EcoBoost engine will also reduces CO2 emissions by 15 percent as against usual ptrol & diesel engines.
Initially, we will go for the regular technology to develop 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine to benefit from government’s policy of lower excise on such engine sizes and introduce the much expensive EcoBoost engines in the long-term.

The company has started its new engine unit at Chennai and increasing its production capacity to 2-lakh cars (double to previous production). It is a part of its previous announcement to invest $500 million in India.
