Fiat to Rollout Linea in Mid-December

Fiat India will start selling its mid sized car Linea in the country from coming month. They stared car production at their Ranjangaon plant on Frinday and expecting to sale approximately 2500 cars per month.

Next model in its production line up at this unit is Grande Punto hatchback, which may hit the Indian road early 2009, followed by the sporty Bravo.Fiat Linea will firstly be offered only with 1.3L multi jet diesel engine and 1.4L petrol engine. The Linea will be presented in 3 variants : Dynamic, Active and Emotion. But according to sources, the company was deciding utilizing superior level engines and may launch 1.6L engine going forward.Company declined to reveal the cost line for C+ segment offering, Linea, adding it would be declared before commercial launch.
We intend to rekindle the warmth in people’s heart for Fiat. This launch is one of the first steps that Fiat will take as a brand.

The Ranjangaon plant will have the production capacity of 135K units, which would reach up to 200K units when project is finish. The facility also will have the capacity of making 300K engines and same number of parts and accessories yearly.

Fiat re-entered India with a very powerfully. The latest addition to its product line is Fiat 500-a two door and the expensive hath back. Now it is time for Linea from the mid size segment is waiting for its entry into the Indian market. But during this global recession, will it be the right time to launch?
