Fiat India Postponed the Launch of Linea

Fiat India has decided to postpone the launch of its Linea, by a month because of a recent terror attacks in Mumbai.

The company official said, 

We have postponed the launching date of Sedan due to recent Mumbai terror attacks. We don’t think this is the right time to celebrate when the whole country is mourning. We will launch the car in mid-January next year.

Previously the company had declared to introduce the Linea in mid-December’08 during a rolling down of car from Ranjangaon plant close to Pune. The Linea is C+ segment sedan, which was introduced worldwide in May’07 in the Istanbul. After that it was most popular and successful model in all markets where it was present.

Fiat India is planning to sell 70K units in Indian market by 2010 and Linea is offered in petrol and diesel options.The company is also intending to introduce a hatchback model - Grande Punto and Bravo in a 2009.

    Many are eagerly waiting for the launch of Linea. The company is thinking wisely. The current market situation is very unstable and the new launch may not be successful.
