Ertiga – 7seater MPV scheduled to launch in April 2012

The most awaited car of the year 2012, Ertiga, has been finally revealed by Maruti Suzuki . This 7-seater and 3-row car marks the grand entry of the carmaker into the utility vehicle segment. The price of this car is not revealed but it will be revealed at the time of launch in the month of April 2012. The probable price of this car will be more than six lakhs. It has a car-like posture and styling. In reality, many design cues have been borrowed by Ertiga from a few other cars in the Maruti Suzuki family.
Talking about the exterior of the Ertiga car, the sweptback headlamps look like the swift and the rest of the exterior looks very same like Ritz. Many parts have been shared by Ertiga with Swift, for example, the dashboard is a swift clone. A few other features included in Ertiga are tilt-adjustable electric steering with audio controls, twin AC, central locking and keyless entry, power windows electrically adjustable mirrors and USB-compatible audio system.
Its length is 4.26m and width is 1.69m. It is smaller as compared to Renault Duster, which is the strong competitor of Ertiga. However, at 1.68m, the MPV is bigger marginally as compared to Duster that stands 1.63m big. Due to its long wheelbase, there is a better legroom for rear seat passengers and great steadiness. The Ertiga will be made available in both diesel and petrol versions.
Ertiga’s all-new 1.4 litre K14 VVT petrol mill as well as a 1.3 litre DDiS super turbo diesel engine powers the SX4 diesel of the Maruti Suzuki. The petrol version of Ertiga develops 95PS power and 130Nm. The diesel version of the Ertiga puts out almost 90PS and 200 Nm of torque. For both diesel and petrol variants, fuel efficiency is 16.02 kmpl and 20.77 kmpl.
