Chevrolet To Unveil Four Beauties Next Year

ChevroletThe U.S. based automobile makers Chevrolet is planning to launch four new passenger cars in 2011. One small car, a couple of mid-sized cars and one SUV will be entering the Indian automobile market next year. Last week, the company had a grand inauguration of its flexi-engine plant in Talegaon in Pune aiming at manufacturing the petrol and diesel engines on the same assembly line. The state of the art facilities of the plant are a handsome investment of $230 million and have been set up for the production of engines for the small GM passenger cars fit for the Indian roads.

The company officials think that the speed lovers will be amazed to see the new Chevrolet SUV which will be called Chevrolet Orlando and the sedans which will be known as Chevrolet Sail and Chevrolet Optra. At present the company is making a new small car which will hit the markets as a replacement to the Spark which is the smallest in the current Chevrolet car range. Now that Mahindra and Reva have fixed a deal, the e-Spark seems to remain a still born and Chevrolet will rather launch a new electric car sometime in 2011. This is going be the production of the General Motors Research and Development team. Chevrolet Beat has already come in the test cycle and will soon be unveiled with the LPG and diesel variants. The Talegaon Plant will start the production of the diesel engines soon.

As had been underlined at the inauguration function of the Talegaon project, the plant has been the mark of the beginning of a new GM chapter in the Indian automobile market. The plant has enabled the company to become more competitive and also to meet the increasing demand for the Chevrolet cars. With the launch of the four beauties next year, Chevrolet will usher the car lovers into a new age of speed.
