The A-Star is a mid segment car which works superb when you need a mid size car. On the opposite side is the Beat which just won over the Punto. It does have something which pulls the want of a mid size car buyer down. The cost is responsible but something more is present which makes the buyer divert his attention towards the Beat.

The A-Star looks spacious from inside and can easily accommodate 5 adults with ease, so does the Beat. Lots of features are added in the A-Star top end model. The basic version of Beat has lots of accessories included too. Price plays an important role in buying one of them. The reason you might choose the A-Star would be mainly because of price, but you got loads of features in the Beat which are important and are value for money.
Handling quality
The Chevrolet Beat handles superb when it comes to turns and straights. The A-Star on the other hand is bit uncomfortable to drive. The seating position is too low which makes it difficult to see. Both of them have 5 speed gear box which works perfect on any terrain.
Engine and feel
The A-Star compared to the Beat is bit grunty. You might not enjoy the feel of the A-Star since you are getting more power in the same amount. Suzuki engine is not that rev free at high speeds.
Time to go to ATM
The Beat is the best option since you get three years free maintenance. You need not waste money on its servicing or repair. The Beat is comfortable than the A-Star at any time of the day.

A-star is better in terms of interior, space at the back, the gearshift quality and the fact that it has wonderful driving position..its too good in its performance and its look.

Maruti A Star will be launched with automatic variant during july 2010. I was waiting for an affordable automatic car and thank god, maruti will bring A Star automatic. Since it is maruti, the price will not be so high. Hence, i am going for it. How about u friend?

Maruti A star will come with automatic transmission in July 2010. This will beat the sales of Beat. A star has got awards in Australia for being the most mileage giving car along with least ownership cost per week. With automatic, A Star will be more easy to drive in city
