General Motors is all set to take a big leap in the Indian mid-segment sedan market, with their new launch Chevrolet Aveo. This new sedan is currently made available with petrol engines, with capacity variants as 1.4L and 1.6L. We have described here the later one. The price range varies between 5, 90,000 to 7, and 80,000, depending upon the included features such as, ABS. Due to the great scope of choice between features and price range, the new Aveo is doing well at its market sale. The major rivals are the Mahindra-Renault Logan, Fiat Linea and Ford Fiesta. ![]() Highlighting Features : General statistics :
Comments : The new Chevrolet Aveo Chevrolet Aveo is available with two different capacities petrol engine that delivers different level of engine performance, power and fuel efficiency. The first engine option is a 1.4L, 1399cc 16 valve, 4-Cylinder In-line petrol engine, with MPFI (Multi Point Fuel Injection) fuel injection system that produces 94PS of maximum power and 128Nm of maximum torque. Second one is the 1.6L, 1598cc, 16 Valve, 4-Cylinder, In-line petrol engine with MPFI fuel injection system and with five speed manual transmission gearbox and it delivers 102PS of maximum power with 149Nm of maximum torque. Two variants of Chevrolet Aveo are powered by this high performance engine. Chevrolet Aveo is available only with petrol engine option but with two different powered engine that offers different level of power and engine performance. First one is the 1.4L, 1399cc 16 valve, 4-Cylinder In-line petrol engine, with MPFI (Multi Point Fuel Injection) fuel injection system that delivers enough power for this segment car. This engine produces 94PS of maximum power at 6200rpm with 128Nm of maximum torque at 3500rpm. Second engine option for Chevrolet Aveo is a 1.6L, 1598cc, 16 Valve, 4-Cylinder, In-line petrol engine with MPFI fuel injection system. This engine is more powerful than the previous one and it delivers 102PS of maximum power at 5800rpm with 149Nm of maximum torque at 4000rpm. Chevrolet Aveo is a five seater stylish sedan model and it is packed with number of exciting interior and exterior features that makes the exterior as well as interior appearance of this car very stylish. Chevrolet Aveo carries very attractive and impressive dual tone interiors. Its dual tone stylish dashboard which is packed with highly advanced third generation instrument cluster which is placed for easy access. Some of its exciting interior features are Dual Tone Beige Interiors, Sporty Instrument Cluster with Chrome Surrounds, Chrome Parking Brake Button , Leather Upholstery, Leather Door Trim Insert, Leather Steering Wheel & Gear Knob, Inside Door Chrome Handles, Interior Embellishments on Dashboard and Doors, Chrome ring on AC vents, etc. Interior Comfort ![]() As for the wheels, the Chevrolet Aveo is available with both Alloy and Steel wheels option. Both of these wheels are available with the size of 14”. Its 14″, 5-Spoke Alloy Wheels adds more sporty and stylish look to its exterior. The Chevrolet Aveo comes with the puncture resistant tubeless tyres with the size of 185/65R 14 so that you can enjoy stress free driving even at the off-road conditions. Braking and Handling Handling and Safety Chevrolet Aveo is available with advanced Audio System with six speakers and with Aux in support so that you can connect your devices like mobile phone, iPod, pen-drive in it. Chevrolet Aveo is an stylish sedan model that offers attractive front, side and rear exterior appearance. Its aggressive chrome finished front grille, sporty headlamps, body colored bumpers makes its front appearance very aggressive. Its body colored grip type outside door handles, full wheel covers, body colored ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) makes the side view of car very stylish. Rear spoiler, large tail-lamps, chrome finished trunk-lid garnish makes the rear view of Chevrolet Aveo also much attractive. The VGIS system which stands for Variable Geometry Intake System makes clever variations to the intake manifold length and geometry to make sure that the engine has optimum intake and exhaust back-pressure, this makes the Aveo torquey, very torquey. The gearbox we found was of slightly long throw, but the gear ratios have been designed to give ease of drivability both during city runs and on the highway. The major flaw of this gearbox though is in the way it shifts, sometimes the changes are rather notchy, something GM could really work on to make this car that much more desirable. Pros : Cons :
