At the recently taken place 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, three face lifted variants of the Rio have been launched by Premier. The new Rio looks more elegant as compared to its earlier version with improved bumper, curvy headlamps, spoiler, and integrated grille. Inside this model, the cabin has given lively and airy feel. The Rio will be provided in three engine option and trims. These 3 engine options of Rio are a 1.5 litre turbo diesel engine, which puts out almost 66 PS, a 1-3 litre CRDI Multijet diesel engine, the similar unit, which does duty in both Maruti Suzuki Swift and Fiat Punto models and a 1.2 litre petrol mill, which deliver nearly 78 PS. InterGlobe Enterprises has launched Ariel Motor’s Atom range of cars in India. The company is a luxury solution provider. These cars will be priced up to 85 lakh and all the operations of the company will be handled by InterGlobe Established Pvt. Ltd. This company is a subsidiary of InterGlobe Enterprises and the parent company is a diversified business house.
The car shall be branded as The Estd and the InterGlobe will “exclusively represent” the Ariel Motor Company in the SAARC countries and also in India. The company plans to sell various models of the recently launched car and the starting price of the Atom will approximately be Rs 55 lakh and will go up to 85 lakh for higher variants. The British sports car-maker, Caterham Cars is all set to enter into the Indian market. It launched its cars in association with Burmans, the promoters of Dabur, an FMGC company. The company announced this at the inauguration of Indian Grand Prix. The Burmans want to start an assembly unit in Noida and also invest almost $ 10 million in this enterprise over a period of next two years.
Caterham Cars Managing Director Ansar Ali said, “We think we are entering India at the right time when the country is set to host its first Formula One race. Caterham being motorsports oriented, we think we can provide an affordable option to motorsports enthusiasts here.” Continue Reading »
