TVS Motors has unveiled the 180cc variant of its popular bike Apache RTR in New Delhi.

TVS Motor Company Ltd. has reported five percent growth in its two wheeler sales for May 2009. The company sold 1,18,574 units in May’09, registering 5% rise as compared to 1,12,770 bikes sold in the same month last year.

TVS has introduced a new variant of Apache RTR named Apache RTR 160 RD. The new Apache RD comes with factor fitted 200 mm Rear Petal Disc Brake for the premium Rs 2000.

TVS Motors has introduced Scooty Pep plus with additional wheels that works as “Balancing Wheels”. These “Balancing wheels” will assist the scooty pep plus rider to learn without difficulty. With Balancing wheels, TVS will be dealing with the never before segment, “those who don’t be familiar with how to ride, even the bike”. According to company, ‘Balancing wheels’ are intended for the people who don’t know how to balance the 2-wheeler.

Due to drop in sales and hence in profits during the last financial year, TVS wants some improvements in its models. Hence the company is planning to introduce new-improved editions of its existing portfolio.

To strengthen the presence in the premium segment, India’s 3rd largest 2-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motors on Monday introduced the advanced edition of its motorcycle Apache fitted with a fuel injection engine, costs at Rs 64,990.

TVS Motor will introduce 2-new scooters whose design motivation taken from the spirit of Wimbledon.

TVS Motors already had signed up with All England Lawn Tennis Club as an authorization.

TVS Motor Company (TVSM) on Sunday launched its new autorickshaw model ‘TVS King’ in 3-wheeler market. This version uses LPG and Petrol.

Its price ranges between Rs 90,000 and Rs 1.3 lakh. Mr M.K.Stalin (Rural Development and Administration Minister) launched the ‘TVS King’ in the presence of Mr K.N. Nehru (Transport Minister).

Mr Venu Srinivasan (The Chairman and Managing Director of TVSM) said that to top line of the Industry in 18-months, they are going to add Rs 400 crore in this business.
