Skoda Auto India launched a upgraded version of its sedan ‘Superb’ in India. The upgraded Superb is priced at Rs. 18.88 lacs (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is the discount rate for Indians, as older models are available at more than Rs. 20.1 lacs.

Skoda is planning to introduce new model, Skoda Yeti at the Auto Expo 2010 in Geneva. The company had already introduced Skoda Fabia, the hatchback model, at the 2008 Auto Expo in Delhi. Like Skoda Fabia, Yeti will contain the same transmission, suspension and brakes.

Now, Skoda is ready to expose their three new variants of its famous model Fabia in India. The company executive said that the company unveils new variants that include flagship hatchback Fabia as well as sport model. The new sport edition car will be fully loaded with alloy wheels and new interior designs. This sport edition is named as Fabia Sportline. Fabia Sportline engine will be 1800cc and remaining two variants will be 1200cc and 1600cc.

Maruti, the leading car manufacturer, recorded 10% fall (56,293 units), as compared to December 2007 (62, 515 units). However, compared to November 2008, it was 9 percent. Maruti sold 47,704 units in a domestic market in November’08.

Skoda, the German Auto manufacturer is offering a free maintenance scheme for their new customers who will purchase Skoda model this month.
This scheme presents a free maintenance for three years or 50,000km, whichever is earlier. This scheme is offered on popular models from the Skoda like Octavia, Superb, Laura and Fabia.

Skoda India has registered 34.8 percent increase in September’08. Skoda sold 1213 units in a month of September’08, compare to 900 units they sold in a same month last year.
