Skoda India with its latest offering Yeti 4×2 intensifies the SUV Auto market in India. Skoda Yeti 4×2 comes powered with 140PS 320Nm 2.OTDi engine that produces 110PS of power at 4200rpm and 250 Nm of torque between 1500 and 2500 rpm. The new Skoda Yeti is tagged as the best fuel efficient car in the SUV segment with a mileage of 17.72 km/liters. The Skoda Rapid has been launched on 16 November this year. This new model marks the official entry into the premium compact sedan section of the country along with the Volkswagen Vento, its German cousin. Already its 1600 bookings have been done. The Fast arrival of this new model this month seems to have done its part in strengthening November sales of Skoda to its 2,628 units, a notable increase of almost 43 percent for the company over the similar period previous year. A year ago, Skoda Yeti 4X4 was launched and now the Yeti 4X2 is being launched. This new model of Skoda is available in two trim levels. Its higher Ambition version is available for Rs 14.32 lakhs and the base Active version costs around Rs 13.46 lakhs. It is available with 2.0-liter diesel mill pumping out 110 PS. It gives a torque of 250Nm at 1500 to 2500 rpm. This new model of Skoda Yeti will have Hill Hold Control, Vario Flex, and ESP for providing it off-road capabilities. It is the best fuel efficient SUV available now.

The Czech car maker wants to introduce Rapid in the international market. The company has decided that after the launch of Rapid on November 16, the car will be exported to other nations across the globe.

The company has high hopes from Rapid. The company expects that this car will become its best selling model in the country and its sales will be more than that of the compact car Fabia. The Skoda Auto India Marketing Head Tarun Jha said that “This car is specifically designed for India and the launch will be the global launch for the car. Skoda Company has started the production of the Citigo, a small city car at the Frankfurt motor show. Series production of this new model Citigo has been started by the Skoda Company that is based on the Volkswagen Up. As there is demand for small cars in India, this small car Citigo will do better in India. The production for the city car Citigo has been started in the manufacturing plant in Bratislava, Slovakia. Skoda has started the production of Citigo, the entry level small car segment for markets in many developed countries.

If the Citigo gets success in making its way in the market of India, the Skoda Citigo is going to settle into the B segment market since their A-Segment cars are a notch below the Citigo in terms of price, build quality and technology. By the end of the present year, this small car Citigo will be surely made available in home market of Czech Republic. Another version of the Citigo three door version will be also made available this year. Another version called five door versions will debut in next year in the year 2012. The companies such as Tata Motors Ltd, Skoda Auto and Hyundai Motor Co are planning to introduce a slew of cars in India this month. These companies will introduce new cars because they want to win over customers and overturn a slowdown in sales in the biggest automobile market of Asia. A few other companies like Nissan Motor Co, Daimler AG, Honda Motor Co and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd also started selling a few new cars as well as sport-utility vehicles in the month of September ahead of the Diwali season that will start in the month of October. The small car Eon will be soon introduced by Hyundai Company in the middle of this month according to Arvind Saxena, director for marketing and sales in the Hyundai Company. He also said that this car will have an 814-cubic centimeter gasoline engine. The aim behind this gasoline engine is that the Hyundai Company wants to make it the small engine capacity car model for Hyundai throughout the world. Skoda Auto India got almost 20 percent hike in the sales for the August month this year as compared to the last year and the same month. Skoda Auto reported sales of 1,512 sales last year in the month of August that has increased to almost 1,812 units every year.

One of the board members from sales and marketing proudly mentioned, “We are extremely positive about Skoda Auto’s growth trajectory in India. Our Endeavour is to consistently provide consumers with value products and services are one of the key factors contributing to our growth”.
