Hero’s plans for the future are clear since they show a concept, which is going to turn to reality and probably dominate its class. Hero MotoCorp, the two-wheeler giant has predicted an increase of about 27 percent growth as the demand for two-wheelers in the rural areas has increased in the country. So by the end of the financial year in March 2012, the net sales are expected to jump from 196.7 billion rupees to 250 billion rupees. This information was given by the chief financial officer of Hero, Ravi Sud.
The two-maker is willing to increase its budget for research and development up to seven times than the present budget. It is also considering purchasing design houses and manufactures of engines to develop new models. He said that this will give the company an edge over one of its former partner, Honda Motor Co. He added that Honda will go on providing support Hero till 2014. In the mean time, the company shall focus on becoming self reliant and strengthening their capabilities. Japan’s biggie Honda Motor, world’s largest motorcycle maker, is gambling on the small capacity 100- cc economy bikes as it boards upon rural push in the second- largest two-wheeler market of the world. The Japanese firm which is separated from its long-term Indian partner turned rival Hero MotoCorp, has appointed 5 management teams all over India led by Japanese officials. It is being done to create a new decentralized marketing strategy to maintain consistency in sales, industry experts said.

This Tokyo based two-wheeler firm is currently working on a new version of the CD platform in the 100- cc segment. In this segment, Hero Motor’s CD Dawn and CD deluxe have the highest sales so far. This new technology of 100-cc is targeted at India’s huge rural strata. Continue Reading »

Even though the two-wheeler industry is witnessing a double-digit annual growth, some models are short on sales. The freebies are being offered to boost the falling sales figures.
One such bike which is facing the heat is Honda Motors premium 110 cc bike CB Twister. Owing to staggering competition from models such as Hero Honda Splendor, Honda is offering a discount of rupees 3,500 on CB Twister to improve its sales.
