The first of the eight new premium Ford cars, the Ford Fiesta was launched in Mumbai on Monday. The car, which is sure to trigger a storm in the luxury C-segment, is priced between 8.23 Lakhs and 10.42 lakhs (ex-Showroom Delhi).
Equipped with EBD, ABS, steering wheel audio controls and airbags, the car would most certainly stun its competitors which include market leader Maruti’s SX4, the Japanese auto giant Honda’s City, Volkswagen Vento and recently revamped Hyundai Verna.
The car is powered by 1.5 L petrol or diesel engine and is offered in four variants namely Style, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+. The US car manufacturer Ford, in India, has recently given away its brand new Ford Fiesta 2011 in the city of Bengaluru, India. This new Fiesta comes equipped with so many goodies and safety features, that it will surely surprise all its customers for sure. Ford Motor Company is going to invest USD 72 million to expand its power train facility in its plant at Chennai. This decision has been taken to give an additional support and increase to its sales, and also to export growth plans in the Indian market. But the surprising fact in here is that the chunk of this investment will be beneficial only for the production of diesel motors. This will also give an opportunity to increase the number of employees, and the company is planning to add another 300 skilled job profiles at the plant. The decision of expansion of its diesel engine production capacity is going to bring a huge amount of foreign currency. Ford’s total investment in India with this investment is now going to be more than US$ 1 billion.
