General Motors India has introduced the automatic variant of its Captiva SUV in the India. The AT is a five-speed unit and is mated to the 2L turbocharged Common Tail Diesel engine of the Captiva with a power 150ps and a 320Nm of torque.

GM is planning to launch its latest compact global car in 2010 which is being produced by the auto manufacturers R&D facility in a Bangalore.
General Motors also declared that they would introduce their Chevy Volt - First Electric car, in India next year. Apart from extra investment of $500M to be invested for their different car models in coming 7-years, the US manufacturer already has invested $1B in Indian market.

General Motors now planning to launch its all new the Chevrolet Cruze (Codename: GMX071), the mid sized sedan and will replace its Chevrolet Optra, a C-segment saloon in Indian market by mid of 2010. The Cruze was 1st revealed in the General Motors press conference in July’08. The car will make its official unveiling at Paris Motor Show in October’08.
