Maruti Alto, one of the biggest selling cars of India appeared as the best-selling small car for another year in 2011, outpacing rivalry from the likes of both the brands called Fiat and Volkswagen in countries such as Germany and Brazil. Almost 310,000 units of Alto were sold in India during the year. This is the only car in the world, which has been sold in huge amount of 310,000 units. The leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki failed to follow two-wheeler companies in terms of gaining huge profits in the third quarter since Forex losses and there is a reduction in year-on-year profit by almost 64%.
