The world-class production plant of Porsche in Leipzig, Germany recently witnessed a landmark achievement of 100,000 production units of its SUV Porsche Cayenne. GL Grand Edition, a new model has been launched by Mercedes Benz Company. Two variants will be made available in this new GL Grand Edition such as luxury variant and executive variant. The price of these two variants has been revealed. Its luxury variant will be made available at Rs. 65.5 lakh and executive variant will be made available at 60.9 lakh. Mercedes Benz Company is also planning enhancing its position of providing the huge product portfolio. New features included in these two new variants are all-wheel drive, dynamic light-alloy wheels, and air suspension and 20-inch tyres. Maruti Alto, one of the biggest selling cars of India appeared as the best-selling small car for another year in 2011, outpacing rivalry from the likes of both the brands called Fiat and Volkswagen in countries such as Germany and Brazil. Almost 310,000 units of Alto were sold in India during the year. This is the only car in the world, which has been sold in huge amount of 310,000 units. The leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki failed to follow two-wheeler companies in terms of gaining huge profits in the third quarter since Forex losses and there is a reduction in year-on-year profit by almost 64%.
