Audi S8 that will be launched in the year 2012 on the market is the new and leading model of the Audi S model family. It is a luxurious and big car of ultimate power. In the new model Audi S8, 4.0 TFSI generates not less than 520 hpPs. A continuous 650 Nm of torque is also delivered by the TFSI to the crankshaft between 1,700 and 5,500 rpm. The result is terrific performance. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes only 4.2 seconds. The highest speed is electronically capped at almost 250km/h. Audi aims to achieve a 40 percent sales growth in 2012 and with this achievement it also plans to bring its sports utility vehicle Q3 and sedan s6 to India in 2012. The German luxury car maker plans to introduce the two models in the upcoming Auto Expo to be held in Delhi next month. Audi AG, the German car maker, revealed an updated version of its racing car Audi R8 LMS GT3 as R8 LMS Ultra. The new version of the car will be launched in mid 2012. The older version has won 115 races and bagged 12 national and international titles in a short span of merely three years. So imagine what a challenge the engineers might have faced in updating such a car. But they seemed to have done a pretty good job in upgrading the older version.
Some of the new features include carbon fiber reinforced plastic doors (CFRP); doors that have high energy crash foams. The PS1 has new safety features to ensure more safety. The new car has a new exhaust system that is very light in weight and also has a new catalytic convertor that enables more torque even at lower speeds. It is still powered by the same 5.2 litre V10 engine that can produce 570hp. The transmission has also been updated to provide additional reserves for long distance runs. The engine has a bigger transmission fluid cooler and engine oil cooler. The air vents, at the sides, have been increased in size to enable better interior ventilation and thermal management. Auto giant Tata Motors launched the latest version of its multi-utility vehicle, Tata Sumo Gold in Pune, on Thursday. This all new Tata Sumo Gold is priced at Rs 5.23 lakh (ex-showroom price at Pune) and is available in four variants i.e. GX, EX, LX and CX. The MUV delivers 85 PS power with BS III and BS IV 3 liter diesel CR4 engine and it is also available in turbo engine. Its revamping is being done at the Bhosari plant in Pune.

Mileage of Tata Sumo Gold is claimed to be 14.07 kilometers per liter. At the launch of the revamped version of Tata Gold Sumo, R. Ramakrishnan ,VP, commercial, passenger car business unit, Tata Motors said “With 14.7 kmpl mileage, the Tata Sumo Gold is conceived and designed for the young customer looking for a stylish, new-age vehicle that is powerful and can take on any terrain with ease. The car sales in the Indian market have suffered an all time low; this has been the worst ever sales figure in the past decade and shows that the Indian economy might be headed towards a slowdown.

According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, the sales of domestic cars declined to 23.8 percent and the production dipped by about 28 percent. This drop can be said to be the worse ever since 2000, when the car sales dipped by 35 percent. The various policy makers are worried about the health of the economy of the country, because of the increasing inflation, slow interests and high interest rates; all these have discouraged the investors. PSA Peugeot Citron, the French car maker laid the foundation stone of its 4,000 crore facility at Sanad in Gujarat. The agreement between the company and the Gujarat government was signed about two months ago.

The first car will enter the market from this plant by mid-2014. This plant at Sanad will be made on an area of about 600 acre plot and will have a capacity to produce about 1.7 lakh cars initially. By 2016 the capacity of the plant will be increased to 3.4 lakh. The company also plans to produce gasoline engines and gear boxes in this facility.
