Audi S8 that will be launched in the year 2012 on the market is the new and leading model of the Audi S model family. It is a luxurious and big car of ultimate power. In the new model Audi S8, 4.0 TFSI generates not less than 520 hpPs. A continuous 650 Nm of torque is also delivered by the TFSI to the crankshaft between 1,700 and 5,500 rpm. The result is terrific performance. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes only 4.2 seconds. The highest speed is electronically capped at almost 250km/h. Audi aims to achieve a 40 percent sales growth in 2012 and with this achievement it also plans to bring its sports utility vehicle Q3 and sedan s6 to India in 2012. The German luxury car maker plans to introduce the two models in the upcoming Auto Expo to be held in Delhi next month. Audi AG, the German car maker, revealed an updated version of its racing car Audi R8 LMS GT3 as R8 LMS Ultra. The new version of the car will be launched in mid 2012. The older version has won 115 races and bagged 12 national and international titles in a short span of merely three years.  So imagine what a challenge the engineers might have faced in updating such a car. But they seemed to have done a pretty good job in upgrading the older version.

Some of the new features include carbon fiber reinforced plastic doors (CFRP); doors that have high energy crash foams. The PS1 has new safety features to ensure more safety. The new car has a new exhaust system that is very light in weight and also has a new catalytic convertor that enables more torque even at lower speeds. It is still powered by the same 5.2 litre V10 engine that can produce 570hp. The transmission has also been updated to provide additional reserves for long distance runs. The engine has a bigger transmission fluid cooler and engine oil cooler. The air vents, at the sides, have been increased in size to enable better interior ventilation and thermal management. The newly launched Audi A6 has been a successful car all across the world. It comes with a lighter body. The body of the car has been constructed from aluminum and high tech steels to make it stiffer. In the automobile industry, the words such as stiffer and lighter have great importance and are a best indication.  A lighter car is more fuel efficient. Audi Company has also said that their car has been tested by an independent body. A stiffer means a more rigid body cell that can improve the handling. In this new launch Audi A6; Audi has even integrated Audi ultra, which is the lightweight technology that was in reality developed for the 24 hour Le Mans endurance racing series.  Almost for ten times, Audi Company has won Le Mans series. It was the first car maker in automobile sector to enter a diesel powered car in Le Mans. Audi A6 has been made using new technology and gizmos like safety features, multimedia system and a few other innovative features.

“Having recorded 95 per cent growth during the January-August period here, India is well ahead of other growth markets for us globally and we are confident that we are on track with our vision of being the No. 1 luxury car maker in India by 2015,” Audi India Head Michael Perschke said in a statement.

Audi in the month of August recorded almost more than 100% increase in sales to 510 units, as against 250 units a month ago. During the period of January to August, the sales of Audi has been increased a complete 95% to 3,655 units from 1,876 units in the equivalent a year before period. Now Audi is placed at No third position in the luxury car market due to the great sales numbers. Audi has set almost a target sale of 5,000 units in present year. Audi has introduced the business edition of sports efficacy vehicle called SUV Q5 2.0 TDI Quattro.This newly introduced sports utility vehicle costs around 3,513,000. This new vehicle will be available in the market for purchase from October 2011.

Mr Michael Perschke, Head of Audi India, said, “The Audi Q5 2.0 TDI Q is perfectly equipped to further strengthen our leadership position in the luxury SUV segment. Luxury auto maker from Germany, Audi, is all ready to disclose the price barrier of high-end cars by making their classy sedan, the Audi A3 saloon, public in India. As it said that the price of the Audi A3 will be hopefully placed around an approximate figure of Rs. 20 lakh (INR), the car is rumored to be on the Indian roads in year 2014.

The company at its launch highlighted everything about the new version of the R8, right from the car being lightweight, to its spectacular high performance in the GT version of the Spyder.
