Castrol India Gets Road Safety Award from WIAA

Castrol India Ltd. bags the Road Safety Award from the Western India Automobile Association (WISS) for its excellent efforts and loyalty towards supporting the reasons of the Road Safety in the country. The award was handed over by HRH Prince Michael of Kent on behalf of WIAA to Amish Mehta (Executive Director, Castrol Ltd.).

Castrol India has been doing exemplary work in the area of Road Safety over the years and is playing a pioneering role in promoting the cause of Road Safety in India. Both WIAA and Castrol are committed to the cause of road safety and we work closely in various road safety initiatives including setting up of the WIAA Castrol Institute of Motoring in Ahmedabad which promotes road safety. Over 50,000 drivers have been trained at this Institute over the last five years. Corporates like Castrol need to be recognized and applauded for their path breaking efforts and initiatives in promoting Road Safety.

Mr. Amish said that the road safety is the main concern area for the Castrol India. Everybody who drives for a Castrol (employee or transporters), is expected to firmly obey with their Global Driving Safety Standards which focuses on a safety of driver, vehicles and journey.

He added that their objective is to be a leader in a driving safety and to convey their experience, knowledge and a safety with others to assist making better driving safety in the wider community.

Castrol India is also a 2-time receiver of the important IRTE Prince Michael Award for the Road Safety - in a 2002 & 2004. In the year 2005, Castrol obtained the uppermost internal Award in BP Group (Castrol’s parent company) - the Helios Human Energy Award for its success in an area of the Road Safety.
